Power Management Software: Smart-UPS O-Line ships with APC's PowerChute™ plus software for advanced UPS power management and diagnostics. The software provides network administrators with useful UPS information and great flexibility in configuring UPS reaction to power events. In addition to extensive unattended system shutdown, you'll get UPS testing/status, remote UPS management and environmental/power monitoring (with support for Microsoft Windows 95/98, Windows NT/2000, Windows 3.x, Windows for Workgroups, Novell Netware, Red Hat Linux, SuSE Linux, TurboLinux, Caldera Linux and SCO Unix.

The Smart-UPS On-line is designed for applications where on-line UPSs are preferred including zero transfer time to and from battery, wide frequency shifts corrected by the UPS without using battery power. unstable (high and low), input voltage requiring tight regulation by the UPS without going to battery, emergency generator backed-up applications - UPS provides premium, regulated sine wave power from battery until the generator turns on, then provides premium, regulated sine wave power utilizing the generator power without using battery power,  critical loads requiring very tight voltage and frequency regulation without the UPS going to batteries and non-power factor corrected loads - UPS used as a buffer to isolate the load from mains power.
