NTC ThermistorsPhilips, distributed in Italy by Claitron, has a wide range of NTC, made with pure metal oxide, and a great number of application schemes.
The 2322 series, specific for temperature measurements, responds to changes in a very fast way. Three parameters are essential in an NTC: the resistance value, referred to as 25°C; the material constant, defined B; the resistance coefficient, depending on the temperature.
Practically speaking, B is determined between two temperature values, usually between 25°C and 85°C. The coefficient that results gives an indication on the sensitivity of the NTC sensor to temperature variations.
Other two important parameters are the time of response and the constant thermal time, where the first parameter is the time used by the sensor to get to 63.2% of the overall temperature difference between one of 25°C (in the air) and the other of 85°C (in silicon oil).
The second parameter relates to regulation IEC 539.
