IBM and Dassault Systemes have announced the launch of CATIA Version 5 Release 6 (VSR6), the leading solution in company processes automation for product creation and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management). The software is available all over the world since the past 23rd of March, for Windows and UN IX platforms.

CATIA V5R6 brings various improvements to existing products and introduces 17 new products, bringing up to 78 the number of CATIA products.

The approach, based on CATIA V5R6’s specification and competencies, enables easy integration of a number of design areas owing to extended process management. VSR6’s integrated functions enable the management all of the product’s development processes improving the quality, reducing times and costs and increasing competitiveness.

The new version offers to companies of all sizes, a complete range of PLM (product lifecycle management) solutions that ease innovation and increase productivity in the digital company’s environment. Specifically: unique functions for product synthesis and analysis, which include the determination of the man-machine interaction in the design process; the checking of a project for production; the definition and the checking of a production process.

CATIA V5R6 substantially improves all the product’s development stages, independently from the design methods used, simplifying competences sharing in real time between manufacturers and suppliers. This way it is possible to develop products keeping in consideration the specific design environments.
