Linux solutions
VXI or VME users can now use the Linux operative system to carry out tests and measurements and to create automation systems. National Instruments proposes complete VXI and VME control solutions owing to the expansion of the Linux compatible product range, among which LabVIEW, GPIB and remote control and embedded systems. National Instruments has developed Linux for VXIpc -870 and MXI -2 solutions for use in University, research and industry environments. The VXIpc-870 series is a fast embedded VXI controller using an innovative mechanical structure to allow the insertion of Intel Pentium II and Pentium III microprocessors ina two-slot C-size unit. VXIpc-870 is supplied in a small-sized package, complete with standard floppy drives, CD-ROM, Ultra DMA 33 hard disk drive, PC Card expansion and various others high performance peripherals. VXIpc-870 uses the most recent Intel technology for chipsets and adopts the high performance MITE MANTIS ASICs to supply solutions in the VXI and PC environment. With Slot 1 it is possible to update the CPU VXIpc-870 for faster microprocessors (Pentium IV) |
