This platform facilitates the creation of superior density and speed projects, a lower energetic consumption than the previous one, and it was used in the development of the new SuperH microprocessors (including SH-5).

SOCplanner is, in fact, a key element of the Hitachi strategy for the realization of its own System LSI market and targeted to the company’s mains markets, such as wireless, networking and automotive.

LSI HG76C’s series devices are the first Hitachi products based on SOCplanner.

SOCplanner is an integrated design platform supplying a common design and development infrastructure, advanced EDA instruments, reusable IPs and cores. It uses the most advanced hardware and middleware technologies and guarantees shorter development times and faster time-to-market for LSI systems and user systems.

The platform offers a wide range of system-on-chip solutions, from a fast and reliable LSI design up to the development of user systems. Hitachi uses the SOCplanner platform with its SuperHper cores for the development of the System LSI generation.
