PCI bus solutionDesigned to create interfaces for the PCI bus, the integrated circuit OX16PCI952 of Oxford Semiconductor encloses a PCI interface, two high-performance serial channels and a parallel port in a single compact 128 terminal TQFP container.
With two 15 Mb/s UART and a IEEE 1284 port, this integrated bridge becomes a simple means to update multifunctional expansion cards.
Owing to the use on every serial channel of the 16C950 internal UART, it is possible to operate with a transmission speed in asynchronous mode of 15 Mb/s, with the added advantage of having FIFO architectures in reception and transmission to reach even higher speeds.
Each channel of the OX16PCI952 system is compatible via software with the widespread 16C550 compatible interfaces, as well as with the high performance UART family OX16C950 of the same Oxford Semiconductor.
The entire whole of functions of the OX16C950 model, including automatic band flow control and read-accessible FIFO levels. The parallel port conforms to the Centronics standard.
This 32 bit and 33 MHz PCI interface integrate complies with version 2.2 of PCI bus specifications and the version 1.1 of the specifications of consumption management.
