GE Plastics has created a new website, Visualfx, inside which industrial designers can find digital samples on line and shaders to download on their computer to stimulate their creativity, as well as a number of visual ideas to use as inspiration to study, evaluate and imagine possible strategies to conquer an advantage on the International market using special effects resins of the Visualfx family for their products.Owing to desktop design tools available on the site, designers can donate a concrete graphic look to their ideas using various effects. A products’ design can now be displayed before the actual manufacturing of the product, showing on video the real colour and the chosen special effect.
The most powerful design tools are the shaders which can be downloaded on one’s own PC; initially they will work with Alias/Wavefront and ICEM Technologies’ CAID (computer-aided industrial design) software which are also incorporated in CAID Rhinocerous software.
The new site also contains guides to design enriched with animated practical guides, designer and product profiles, product photographs, an online order entry function and links to desktop design tools. There are also links to local e-mail addresses, through which customers can make an appointment online to use the resources of the Customer Innovation Center.
