Among others, the ‘Giovani Industriali’ of Confindustria, the Kyoto Club (companies adhering to Confindustria committed to reduction of greenhouse gases), UnionCamere and Conai (National Packaging Consortium).

Among the criteria used by the Jury: size of the innovation in terms of reduction of greenhouse gases and use of renewable sources, trade potentials, creation of added value. The jury has required to be able to measure the environmental advantages of the productions, and then only previously tested solutions have been examined. Prizewinning companies will be allowed to use freely the "Prize for Environmentally-Friendly Innovation " brand.

The eco-efficient scooter
Aprilia has produced a new two phase 50 cc engine (the "ditech"), propeller for a scooter, with contained costs, capable of reducing fuel consumption to two liters per 100 km and reduce the emissions so as to be within the Euro 2 limits without the use of a catalyzed exhaust or secondary air injection.

The low consumption fridge
Electrolux has just put into commerce the family refrigerating device (ER8100B) with the lowest energy consumption: it saves 40% electricity compared to a class A equivalent.

New product: maize tires
Novamont and Goodyear introduce the new maize-based high performance and lower environmental impact tire: improved adherence, less noise, less energy consumption, using renewable raw materials.

A total energy policy
St Microelectronics has started an energy consumption and global weather-altering gases reduction program, involving suppliers, rationalizing processes and using solar energy, studying parsimonious processors and using a central control function and energy management.

The first range of electric cars
Piaggio has prepared an almost complete range of zero-emission vehicles, electric motorvehicles and assisted bicycles during the past few years, it has a dedicate internal staff and an assistance network of 30 qualified retailers. Piaggio collaborates with various municipalities and organizations to study solutions for the diffusion of electric transmission.

System innovation: industrial lubricants service
Kluber Lubrication has presented a Traveling Laboratory with specialized personnel to  carry out analysis and give consultancy for the use , saving and disposal of their lubricants used in the various industrial sectors, informing and advising about correct environmental behavior.

System innovation: packaging conservation
Allegrini distributes its house and office cleaning products by direct home delivery, thus not requiring containers, wrappings and packaging, also responding to a need for greater practicality from the customers.

Two environment careful washing product lines (equal qualification prizes)
Two small companies, Heto and Icefor, have studied and traded complete lines of detergents, for domestic and professional use, that are particularly careful about consequence on the environment. Heto has also obtained – the second in Europe – the Ecolabel on its "Winni's" product for dishwashers. Icefor, s well as obtaining the Iso 14001 and Emas certification, was particularly careful in the total substitution of phosphates with non-polluting substances.
 
As well as true and proper prizes, the prize’s jury, presided by Walter Ganapini from Anpa, has made a few indications:

Recyclable textile flooring
Diddi & Gori offers, with "Digodream", a recyclable textile flooring  for fairs and made with post consumption odd bits (for a percentage today of 30% but soon for 50% of its weight). This is sold as a service made of supply, laying out and then removal of the product after use to be destined to further recycling of the fibers.

A service for electronic waste
Canon Italia has activated a National service (called "Iper") for the recovery of waste electronic material produced in a modern office (toner, floppy disks, cds ...), also valid for consumables of all brands, that is to be appreciated for clarity, simplicity and farsightedness.

A new system component
Mister Enrico Geuna has created and patented an innovative component of water depuration systems, a "rotating biological contactor" which gives greater efficiency and reliability in the depuration and a substantial process energy saving.

Energy in the productive process
Granarolo uses a number of interventions in its industrial processes for careful management of energy, using energy leftovers and matching containment in consumptions and less pollution.

Raw material from depurators residue
Solvay, with its "Solval" platform can process and transform in raw materials 15.000 tons a year of residue originating from the depuration of the fumes on industrial systems.

Attention for pollution in the post
The Italian Post boast the most important Italian methane vehicle fleet (657 Fiat Ducato), half of its vans of medium capacity and 18% of their vehicle lot. Attention for pollution also for the scooters the post delivering personnel are supplied with.
