Next generation mobile telecommunications

Teligent
announced the availability of a new advanced MMS-C platform. The new MMS-C solution is a result of the combined strengths of Teligent´s leading value added services offerings, the Teligent P90/e platform and mi4e´s technology for mobile Internet protocols and services. MMS, the next generation of SMS mobile messaging, supporting colour pictures, sound, music, text, and video, is expected to play an important role in 2,5G and 3G networks. MMS support has been announced by all major mobile phone manufacturers and will be available in handsets from Q2 2002.

The new technology from Teligent and mi4e includes a full MMS and WAP 2.0 compliant gateway, end-to-end wireless security (the security technology used on today´s WAP phones), and integrates with Teligent´s range of Value added services including MMS-based Unified Mailbox applications. The MMS-C platform also has the ability to remotely configure WAP, GPRS, and MMS settings for the major mobile phone brands.
