ILOG senior marketing posts

ILOG, the world's leading provider of software components, announced the appointment of two software industry veterans to key worldwide marketing appointments. Hewlett-Packard veteran Becky Roller, who brings nearly 20 years of technology marketing experience to ILOG, has joined the company as worldwide senior director of corporate marketing. And separately, Margaret Thorpe, who for the last three years has led the rapid growth of ILOG's business rules product line, has been promoted to vice president of product marketing.

Both appointees will be based at ILOG's U.S. headquarters in Mountain View, Calif.

Roller most recently was the worldwide marketing director for H-P's Business Customer Organization, overseeing worldwide marketing and sales strategy for the company's small and medium business (SMB) segment. During her 13-year H-P tenure, Roller also served as worldwide e-business manager for the Computer Systems Organization. In her new role with ILOG, Roller is responsible for managing the company's worldwide strategic marketing programs, including corporate messaging, advertising and public relations.

With more than 20 years of software industry experience, much of it focused on mission-critical decision support software development, Thorpe joined ILOG in 1999. In her previous role as director of business rules product marketing, Thorpe led the product strategy that contributed to rapid market adoption for ILOG's business rule products into the finance, insurance and supply chain industries. Under Thorpe's leadership, ILOG business rule product revenues have grown more than 100 percent year over year, and the company has become widely recognized as a business rules market leader and innovator. This distinction was punctuated with recent industry accolades including the Software Development Magazine Productivity and Crossroads A-List awards. With this promotion, Thorpe will now have product marketing responsibility not only for ILOG's business rules products, but also for the company's visualization and optimization product lines.
