 Power transmissions, encouraging figures
Assiot and Assofluid, respectively the Associazione Italiana Costruttori Organi di Trasmissione ed Ingranaggi and the Associazione Italiana dei Costruttori ed Operatori del Settore Oleoidraulico e Pneumatico provide the figures on the great department of power transmissions, command and control of movement: as far as mechanical transmission organs are concerned, Assiot points out an increase of proceeds (+9,6%) for sales in Italy and especially for the export (+17,5%). The total of the production on the other hand records an increase of 14,7%. The percentage of order variation, in comparison to 1999, is of +12,7% in Italy, +18,3% for export and +16,3% compared to the total of production.Also encouraging are the figures relating to the first quarter of 2001, which record a +3,6% of proceeds in Italy, +26% for export and a production total of +16,8%. Order variation, still according to Assiot, is worth +0,3% in Italy, +2,8% export, +1,8% production total. Oleohydraulics and pneumatics are also doing good. These two sectors were recently the protagonists of great financial occurrences, among which some acquisitions carried out by some multinationals.
In pneumatics the closing figures for 2000 given by Assofluid were more brilliant that those concerning oleohydraulics, which were in any case positive. The pneumatics industry records, in fact, an increase of 17,1% for sales in Italy, +20,4% for exports and +12,6% for imported products.
