The first Enipower electric power station

Eni's managing director, Vittorio Mincato, has announced the official attainment of the authorizations to start works on the first Enipower electric power station, designed for the Eni location in  Sanazzaro de' Burgundi (PV). The expected investment for the making of the power station is estimated around 1.400 billion lira, and it will have a yearly productive capacity of a gigawatt; a regular supply autonomy is expected by 2003.

Looking ahead Eni purposes the use of its industrial areas for the building, through the Enipower company, of a complex of 5 electric power stations, though maintaining open the possibility of other two. According to Vittorio Mincato's declarations, in the first expenditure plans for the next four years, Eni will invest a billion euro in testing and research.

The final aim in the company's strategies, Mincato explains, is focalized on the exploitation of its industrial locations, not contemplating the acquisition of other plants. Eni with these strategies is consolidated among the electric power producers as third group after Enel and Edison.
