Industrial gasketsThe Economos company offers various types of materials for gaskets. Ecopur is a high abrasion and stretch resistant thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, low compression-set and in general with excellent physical properties. In seal systems, Ecopur is used mainly for the production of lipped gaskets, compact gaskets, pack gaskets and scrapers as well as for special applications.
Ecopur is resistant to mineral oils, to water up to 40° C and hydraulic fluids in general; vegetable oils, synthetic esters up to 60 °C. According to the type of profile and the seat, gaskets in Ecopur can be deployed without antiextrusion ring up to a max. 400 bar.
The company also offers H-Ecopur (red colored): a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer resistant to hydrolysis. Associated in an optimal manner to the specific characteristics of Ecopur - a stability for high hydrolysis for polyurethane – is stable in water up to 90 °C (hydrolysis = degrade of of a substance for the effect of water). This stability makes H-Ecopur suitable for use in press gaskets and with aqueous applications typical of shipbuilding and mining industry. H-Ecopur is recommended for use with water, HFA fluids (oil-water emulsions), HFB (water-oil emulsions), biological fluids (vegetable oils, synthetic esters) and food substances.
