System sensors

Siemens’Automation and Drives (A&D) department offers Opto-Bero C40-Shorty, a photocell for transportation systems.

Opto-Bero C40-Shorty is a proximity switch that controls the processes on transportation systems or in manufacturing, packaging and storing departments.

C40-Shorty is available in various versions: as reflex photofeeler with working distance of 100 centimeters, as photofeeler with background suppression and range of action between 35 and 200 mm and as photofeeler with range of action between 600 cm or 100 cm for transparent objects, for example glass detection.

This switch is distinguished by a wide range of action, very visible "luminous signs" that indicate the status, as well as by a versatile assembly possibility of the plastic casing (only 40x40 mm.). With the previous photoelectric sensors Siemens presents the new Sonar-Bero 3RG625 of the compact K65 series that are suitable for the control of the filling level in small containers.

Owing to their special casing, these sensors can be used as an intelligent cap that closes the container with a perimeter sheathing checking the filling level  with a sensor. The sonar can detect the filling level in a continual way and, upon reaching the set minimum or maximum limit, it commutes the respective output signaling via two LEDs. Adjustment can be set via a key or activated by a corresponding signal emitted by an electronic controller or by a PC. In order to parameterize without problems the Sonar-Bero also available is the Sonprog 3RX4000 system.
