Electronics: proceeds are slowing down
In the first half of 2001 the electrotechnical and electronic sector represented by Anie (National federation of electrotechnical and electronic enterprises), shows a slow-down compared to last year's figures. The proceeds increase rate is of 0,8% (-2,1% short term). Orders reveal a tendential growth of1,1% (0,3% short term) and exports show a discreet dynamic, with a tendential increase of 2,5% (-0,4% short term). Overall employment shows a slight decrease (-0,2%) which is more heightened in Electronics compared to Electrotechnical.
Figures were distributed by Anie, the federation adhering to Confindustria that represents, through 16 associations, around a companies operating in electrotechnical and electronics, the fourth in size in Italy, with overall proceeds in year 2000 calculated to about 90 thousand billion of which 37 thousand for exports.
'Economical conjuncture and political uncertainty - Daniel Kraus, general director of Anie, comments - have slowed down consumption and investments. In such a scenery the electronic and electrotechnical sectors have shown a slowing down. Electrotechnics have brought the growth forward, with an increase of 2,3%, whereas electronics has marked a negative performance with -0,6%.
