Dow Chemical: acquisition in Enichem

The Dow Chemical Company, after acquiring the market assets of Celotex Corporation, is now focusing on the Italian market.

The multinational company, present in Italy as Dow Italia, has completed the acquisition of Enichem’s polyurethane division, adding a new block to its control on the market.

According to the agreement, Enichem comes into possession of 50% of Polimeri Europa, sold by Dow Chemical.

Owing to the acquisition of Enichem’s polyurethane division, Dow expands its leadership on Italian production factories (Veneto - Porto Marghera, Sicilia - Brindisi and Priolo), and in Belgium (Tertre), but also on those destined to the production of Italian (Cardano al Campo - Lombardia), French (Erstein) and German (Osnabrueck) polyurethane systems.

Following this operation, Dow Chemical brings its production capacity to about 2 million tons, and increases to 0.5 billion dollars the sales proceeds of the polyurethane and polyurethane products system market.
