The fair is divided in seven thematic areas inside which a wide space is dedicated to materials, among which stand out the sector dedicated to plastic and derivates; metals as well as ceramics and carbon. All this supported by application topics:
- Surface and Nano World, (innovation through which modern surface treatments are being developed, with super-thin thickness and, notwithstanding, resistance to shock, wear, corrosion and high temperature);
- Adhesion & Joining World, the focus area also extended now to welding and joining techniques, combined with the sixth International Conference on Joining;
- Product Development World, all the novelties to minimize design time and costs for new products;
- Testing & Research World, the novelties for new material testing and check the innovative surface treatment techniques, as well as research for new solutions.

Materials Week
Materialica is also famous for its scientific and congress aspect, confirming itself as an event that goes beyond the fair. Materials Week is an incomparable dialogue platform to promote personal contact between national and international research institutes ad institutions. There will be more than 1.500 participants in what already promises to be the greatest convention on strategy lines concerning materials and their applications' added value.
