The fifth edition of the “European Microwave Week”, organised by the CMP Europe company, will be held this year at the conference centre of the Milan Fair from the 23rd to the 27th September 2002.The programme, which will unfold over five days, will see the contemporary holding of three of the most important European conferences in the wireless and microwave sector, (“32nd European Microwave Conference”, “GAAS 2002” and “Wireless Technologies 2002”), with the European Microwave Exhibition and a number of workshops and brief thematic courses.
The 5th European Microwave Week (EuMW) will work off the success of the previous edition, held in 2001 in London, which saw the participation of over 2.700 visitors – from Korea, Japan, Czech republic, Scandinavia, United States, Israel and European Union countries – and about 200 between the main industries of the sector, among which Agilent, Anritsu, Ansoft, Rohde & Schwarz, etc.
In the occasion of the 2002 meeting, there will be two 5.000 euro prizes given for the works presented at the 32nd European Microwave Conference: the recognitions are the “EuMW Radar Prize”, sponsored by Raytheon, and the “Student Fellowship”, Mini Circuits for young engineers. A further 2.000 Euro prize will be given to the most interesting work presented during the conference.
The GAAS 2002 convention on the other hand, sees 3 1.000 Euro prizes destined to the best presentations. Also, there will be up to 5 3.000 Euro prizes destined to researchers work.
