Testing systems
Advantest Corporation, manufacturer of ATE - Automatic Test Equipment, announced the release of the T6500 series of test systems for mass-production testing of MCUs, ASICs, and SoCs.
These zero footprint test systems offer standard testing speeds of 30, 60, or 125MHz and can be upgraded after installation.
To answer customer demands for high-end testers, Advantest has previously released the T6672 and T6682, which offer testing speeds of 500MHz and 1GHz respectively.
In contrast, the new T6533, T6563, and T6573, with their standard testing speeds of 30, 60, or 125MHz, were designed specifically for the low-end market. However, these systems also have the option of testing at a maximum of 125, 250, or 500MHz, when using the pin multiplex function that comes with each tester. Finally, their single test station design has 512 testing pins, which allows a total of 8 devices to be tested simultaneously.
Currently, the electronics industry is going through a transformation in which the focus is shifting from the PC to the DC, the so-called “digital consumer”. Evidence of this transition can be seen in the boom in mobile phones, PC peripherals, digital appliances, and game consoles. This has led to an unprecedented demand for SoCs (System on Chip) – a trend that is fueling new growth in the testing industry.
